La juxtapoistion de deux portraits r\u00e9cents t\u00e9moigne de cette esth\u00e9tique &nbsp;kitsch tr\u00e8s color\u00e9e de Pierre et Gilles, internationalement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e, non pas &nbsp;appliqu\u00e9e au nu, mais \u00e0 une ic\u00f4ne revisit\u00e9e et \u00e0 un personnage accomplissant un geste de pi\u00e9t\u00e9, dans des environnements de pacotille sp\u00e9cialement con\u00e7us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Madone du Corona (Clara Benador), 2020&nbsp;: sur le ventre est appos\u00e9e une repr\u00e9sentation symbolique du virus, mais ici les pointes sont des fleurs, comme le voile ou la parure. La peinture d\u2019une Vierge protectrice&nbsp;?<br>La pri\u00e8re aux moussaillons (Lukas Ionesco) 2021&nbsp;: une association avec la&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/raddo-ethnodoc.com\/archive\/3156978\">pri\u00e8re du mousse<\/a>&nbsp;? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les deux mod\u00e8les, Clara Benador et Lukas Ionesco, vivent et travaillent \u00e0 La Rochelle. La premi\u00e8re est photographe et autrice notamment des \u00ab&nbsp;Deux amoureuses&nbsp;\u00bb 2022, un livre remarqu\u00e9 par la critique. &nbsp;Le deuxi\u00e8me est chanteur, musicien, photographe et acteur de cin\u00e9ma&nbsp;; ses habits de marin peuvent \u00eatre mis en lien avec les souvenirs de la ville de naissance de Gilles, Le Havre. Les deux plasticiens ont choisi leurs mod\u00e8les dans la culture, mais leur font jouer des personnages d\u00e9cal\u00e9s, actuel ou grave pour l\u2019une, baignant dans des souvenirs d\u2019enfance pour l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9cente exposition de Pierre et Gilles, \u00ab&nbsp;Les couleurs du temps&nbsp;\u00bb, s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e \u00e0 la galerie internationale Templon et a cl\u00f4tur\u00e9 l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2022. Il ne fallait pas s\u2019attendre \u00e0 des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences sp\u00e9cifiques sur la joie de No\u00ebl puisque le couple c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour ses portraits entre peinture et photographie montrait des travaux sur trois ans, int\u00e9grant donc le temps du Covid (et de sa sortie) et surtout le soutien&nbsp; aux Ukrainiens. Entr\u00e9e de la galerie Templon, 2022<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Au milieu de ces \u0153uvres souvent inqui\u00e8tes de l\u2019\u00e9tat du monde, derri\u00e8re leur aspect joyeux au premier abord, se trouvaient des photos aux sujets religieux de style parfois diff\u00e9rent des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes expositions. La revisitation de l\u2019iconographie chr\u00e9tienne dans le registre Queer (c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire le monde LGBT), avec ses mod\u00e8les et ses mani\u00e8res de poser les questions, aurait-elle des couleurs du temps particuli\u00e8res&nbsp;? Que leurs \u0153uvres apportent-elles de particulier \u00e0 la <a href=\"https:\/\/saintmerry-hors-les-murs.com\/2023\/01\/23\/pierre-et-gilles-figures-du-religieux-dans-un-univers-queer-2-2\/\">repr\u00e9sentation contemporaine du religieux&nbsp;? Lire \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Mondes religieux et Queer selon Pierre et Gilles<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb dans le second article.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"la-conception-des-oeuvres-artisanat-integral-et-expression-de-la-beaute\"><strong>La conception des \u0153uvres&nbsp;: artisanat int\u00e9gral et expression de la beaut\u00e9<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Les deux premi\u00e8res \u0153uvres \u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e de l\u2019exposition donnaient le ton et rappelaient comment Pierre, n\u00e9 en 1950, et Gilles, n\u00e9 en 1953, fabriquent leurs images. Ainsi, parmi leurs connaissances ukrainiennes, ils ont sollicit\u00e9 Bogdan Romanovic, mod\u00e8le pour les photographes de mode dans le monde (Vogue par exemple) et impliqu\u00e9 dans la culture de son pays, ou encore Olga Sklyar, influenceuse pour des marques de luxe. Un crit\u00e8re de choix fondamental est leur beaut\u00e9, puis leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 entrer dans le projet mall\u00e9able des artistes dont l\u2019inspiration peut \u00eatre en attente durant des ann\u00e9es<a id=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>, mais qui ici s\u2019est concr\u00e9tis\u00e9e rapidement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s discussion avec le mod\u00e8le, les deux artistes ont mont\u00e9 une r\u00e9elle sc\u00e8ne de th\u00e9\u00e2tre avec des ch\u00e2ssis embo\u00eet\u00e9s, tendus de voiles auxquelles leur assistant a accroch\u00e9 des objets de plastique, trouv\u00e9s dans divers lieux ou des magasins bon march\u00e9, formant un univers kitsch souvent f\u00e9\u00e9rique ou en rapport avec le sujet, parfois avec un peu de fum\u00e9e d\u2019appoint. Le mod\u00e8le est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement associ\u00e9 \u00e0 certains param\u00e8tres de la prise de vue, mais aussi au produit final, puisque le num\u00e9rique permet de faire des choix collectifs. Pierre prend la photo, frontalement comme chez les&nbsp; anciens ma\u00eetres, et l\u2019imprime sur une toile fine. Gilles peint ensuite \u00e0 l\u2019acrylique, les deux artistes prolongeant la production de l\u2019\u0153uvre devenue alors unique par un cadre sp\u00e9cifique prolongeant la toile, l\u00e0 encore \u00e0 partir de mat\u00e9riaux factices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans \u00ab&nbsp;La promesse&nbsp;\u00bb, le mod\u00e8le pleure au milieu&nbsp; d\u2019un paradis perdu, mais \u00e0 retrouver, fait de fleurs jaunes et bleues. Il tient un bouquet de coquelicots, rouge sang, symbole de la consolation et surtout symbole de comm\u00e9moration de la Premi\u00e8re Guerre Mondiale. La colombe de la paix et l\u2019aur\u00e9ole lui donnent des allures religieuses, les tableaux du bapt\u00eame du Christ \u00e9tant la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence&nbsp;: le jeune est reconnu par une instance sup\u00e9rieure et re\u00e7oit une promesse, une mission de lib\u00e9ration. Mais contrairement \u00e0 beaucoup de leurs \u0153uvres o\u00f9 la nudit\u00e9 est pr\u00e9sente, le mod\u00e8le est habill\u00e9, toutefois de mani\u00e8re sp\u00e9cifique&nbsp;: un d\u00e9bardeur, appel\u00e9 Marcel, que portaient les acteurs des 60\u2019s comme Marlon Brando et qui est entr\u00e9 dans la mode homosexuelle. Avec cette \u0153uvre, les artistes expriment leur empathie pour un peuple, repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par sa jeunesse, qui souffre. L\u2019iconographie religieuse vient accompagner la vis\u00e9e politique. Pierre et Gilles m\u00e9langent tous les registres, ils ne veulent pas de puret\u00e9 stylistique. La guerre en Ukraine, qui les touche beaucoup, n\u2019est pas abord\u00e9e sur un mode cruel ou trash, mais presque mystique, avec introduction de force lumi\u00e8re qui joue souvent un grand effet dans les \u0153uvres. Avec son nom associ\u00e9 au titre, cette jeune femme, qui n\u2019est plus une anonyme, a sa part dans la construction de l\u2019\u0153uvre. Sa jeunesse est arr\u00eat\u00e9e par la guerre, mais son regard et son port d\u2019une arme (factice), tandis que les avions dans le ciel se substituent aux papillons, t\u00e9moignent de son chagrin, mais aussi de la fermet\u00e9 de son choix de combattre. \u00c0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des coquelicots rouges, les bleuets de France, signes de la m\u00e9moire et de la solidarit\u00e9 envers les anciens combattants. Alors que leurs tableaux sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement dans une ambiance Queer, ici pas de nudit\u00e9, le sujet est grave. Olga est habill\u00e9e simplement, les propos des artistes se concentrent sur la guerre, mais avec une esp\u00e9rance dont t\u00e9moigne le cadre aux couleurs de l\u2019Ukraine, avec \u00e9pis, fleurs et papillons. M\u00eame au c\u0153ur de la guerre, Pierre et Gilles mettent de la beaut\u00e9, de l\u2019esp\u00e9rance et introduisent une profondeur &nbsp;dans leur esth\u00e9tique pop, tr\u00e8s maitris\u00e9e. Ils accordent aux femmes une place \u00e9gale, ce qui est un trait de leur art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"le-religieux-chez-pierre-et-gilles-un-itineraire-un-marquage-permanent\"><strong>Le religieux chez Pierre et Gilles. Un itin\u00e9raire, un marquage permanent.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Leur travail en commun s\u2019est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 70, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019un voyage au Maroc o\u00f9 ils ont remarqu\u00e9 la pratique des photographes populaires, sur les places de march\u00e9, de corriger grossi\u00e8rement les photos de touristes avec de la peinture, de les saturer.
