Mais, en 2023, dans une foire&nbsp;o\u00f9 l\u2019argent circule \u00e0 haute intensit\u00e9 qu\u2019en est-il ? L\u2019afflux des collectionneurs internationaux t\u00e9moigne de l\u2019attrait exerc\u00e9 par Paris, chacun des galeristes ayant sa strat\u00e9gie marketing et esth\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\"> Dans ce qui est un march\u00e9 d\u2019investissement (entreprises, individus, fonds financiers), les acteurs se font aussi plaisir, recherchent des \u0153uvres qui les touchent, voire qui invitent au questionnement int\u00e9rieur.&nbsp; Les \u0153uvres ayant une dimension ou une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence explicitement spirituelle \u00e9taient en faible nombre et dispers\u00e9es. Mais les rechercher \u00e9tait une m\u00e9thode pour parcourir les all\u00e9es et faire de nombreuses d\u00e9couvertes. <br>Huit d\u2019entre elles indiquent \u00e0 quel point le spirituel dans l\u2019art<a id=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>pr\u00e9sente des visages diff\u00e9rents. Mais dans une foire, les conditions sont particuli\u00e8res. Le tableau impressionnant par sa taille et sa valeur exceptionnelle (38 millions \u20ac), surveill\u00e9 en permanence par un vigile, \u00e9tait arriv\u00e9 de New York in extremis, dans l\u2019espace r\u00e9serv\u00e9 par la deuxi\u00e8me galerie mondiale PACE.&nbsp; Au d\u00e9part, le th\u00e8me choisi par cette derni\u00e8re \u00e9tait plus large&nbsp;: \u00ab&nbsp;Under the influence \u2013 PACE artists respond to Rothko&nbsp;\u00bb.&nbsp; Comme tous les Rothko disponibles \u00e9taient \u00e0 la grande r\u00e9trospective Rothko \u00e0 la Fondation Vuitton, la galerie avait choisi initialement de se limiter \u00e0 montrer ses artistes sous l\u2019\u00e9gide de l\u2019artiste new-yorkais. C\u2019est donc un peu miraculeusement que ce tableau a \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris. Son propri\u00e9taire, le financier multimilliardaire Thomas H. Lee, s\u2019\u00e9tant suicid\u00e9 au d\u00e9but de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e, plusieurs \u0153uvres importantes de sa collection ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises en vente \u00e0 titre priv\u00e9 au cours des derniers mois. Il fallait pour la galerie internationale \u00eatre pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 Paris avec un grand Rothko, sinon rien. Est-ce le signe d\u2019une implantation future \u00e0 Paris qui voit se multiplier les arriv\u00e9es de galeries&nbsp;? En admirant un tableau, on ignore souvent les strat\u00e9gies qui pr\u00e9sident \u00e0 son exposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\">C\u00f4t\u00e9 accrochage, \u00ab&nbsp;Olive Over Red&nbsp;\u00bb respectait les normes \u00e9dict\u00e9es par l\u2019artiste (1903-1970)&nbsp;: sans cadre, \u00e0 hauteur des yeux (plac\u00e9s \u00e0 50 cm de la toile), afin d\u2019entrer dans la contemplation non pas de la couleur, mais de la lumi\u00e8re \u00e9manant des grandes masses peintes par superpositions fines. Alors que dans les grandes expositions, o\u00f9 il y a foule, se produit un recueillement palpable, dans une foire au niveau sonore d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able, le tableau isol\u00e9, hors normes et d\u2019une telle valeur, rappelait l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re de La Joconde au Louvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"etienne-chambaud-uncreature\"><strong>\u00c9tienne Chambaud. Or il ne fait que montrer autrement des ic\u00f4nes, ces \u0153uvres \u00e9tant avant tout des exc\u00e8s de l\u2019image sur elle-m\u00eame, mobilisant tous les sens. &nbsp;En effet, l\u2019artiste les choisit, les ach\u00e8te neuves ou d\u00e9t\u00e9rior\u00e9es puis les recouvre de feuilles d\u2019or, en ne laissant voir que certains d\u00e9tails des corps ou visages, yeux, bouches, mains. L\u2019or \u00e9tant le mat\u00e9riau symbolisant l\u2019immat\u00e9riel et l\u2019inalt\u00e9rable, l\u2019artiste tente une red\u00e9finition de l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019art religieuse, qui est saisissement du regard et support visible pour acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l\u2019invisible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\"><em>\u00ab Ce qui m\u2019int\u00e9resse dans ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 c\u2019est que les ic\u00f4nes sont toujours une question de la pr\u00e9sence. Ici aussi, pour ce Christ apparemment sans probl\u00e8me esth\u00e9tique, hormis son clinquant, la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence religieuse a \u00e9t\u00e9 mat\u00e9riellement alt\u00e9r\u00e9e, mais pas de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re et avec un sens tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent. Danh Vo, n\u00e9 en 1975 au Vietnam et r\u00e9fugi\u00e9 au Danemark durant son enfance, a mis en sc\u00e8ne une d\u00e9t\u00e9rioration analogue \u00e0 celle de la grande exposition au ton apocalyptique de la Bourse de Commerce (2023), \u00ab&nbsp;Avant l\u2019orage&nbsp;\u00bb. Toute son \u0153uvre \u00e9tant marqu\u00e9e par le d\u00e9racinement, il a fait du d\u00e9membrement d\u2019objets, notamment religieux, un pr\u00e9alable \u00e0 ses installations, les \u0153uvres \u00e9tant des marchandises \u00e9chang\u00e9es par ceux qui sont au pouvoir. La question du religieux tient une place importante chez lui, car en faisant des recherches sur ses origines familiales, il a d\u00e9couvert que les missions \u00e9taient les vecteurs de la colonisation et de l\u2019extension du capitalisme. Il y a ainsi une dimension politique implicite derri\u00e8re ce Christ&nbsp;; sa d\u00e9marche est totalement diff\u00e9rente de celle de Pascal Convert, dont le Christ de verre expos\u00e9 dans une chapelle de Saint-Eustache, <a href=\"https:\/\/saintmerry-hors-les-murs.com\/2023\/03\/05\/pascal-convert-cristallisation-n3-matiere-et-resurrection\/\">Cristallisation N\u00b03 (2014) <\/a>est aussi le produit d\u2019une m\u00e9tamorphose. Mais Pascal Convert a, lui, \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s respectueux vis-\u00e0-vis du Christ en bois, alt\u00e9r\u00e9 seulement par le temps. Si on peut se recueillir devant son \u0153uvre, cela est moins \u00e9vident devant \u00ab&nbsp;Untitled&nbsp;\u00bb, qui est un objet r\u00e9duit \u00e0 une forme et \u00e0 une esth\u00e9tique renvoyant un autre sens, le m\u00e9moriel politique et non le cultuel. Cette \u0153uvre attirait la curiosit\u00e9 du spectateur sur ce qui se passe derri\u00e8re la porte et l\u2019obligeait \u00e0 faire un choix&nbsp;: \u00e0 quel moment quitter la vid\u00e9o puisqu\u2019elle est en boucle&nbsp;? Une \u0153uvre ludique, mais questionnant chacun sur ce que veut dire mettre fin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\">Dans ce sillage, Christian Marclay a choisi de belles portes anciennes aux poign\u00e9es diff\u00e9rentes et en a fait des croix, par d\u00e9coupage comme il a l\u2019habitude de le faire avec les disques ou leur pochette pour en faire des \u0153uvres visuelles. Si le temps est une entit\u00e9 que l\u2019artiste ne cesse de questionner<a id=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a>, avec malice et d\u00e9tournement, dans \u00ab&nbsp;Crosscut&nbsp;\u00bb, \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence de \u00ab&nbsp;Doors&nbsp;\u00bb, le temps est arr\u00eat\u00e9. Est-ce aussi \u00ab&nbsp;la&nbsp;\u00bb derni\u00e8re image&nbsp;? La r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au Christ et \u00e0 \u00ab&nbsp;<em>Moi, je suis la porte&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb (Jn 10.09) viennent \u00e0 l\u2019esprit&nbsp;; mais une fois de plus Christian Marclay esquive ce texte, op\u00e8re un d\u00e9tournement, laissant le spectateur sur une question qui n\u2019est pas seulement ludique. Ses sayn\u00e8tes de vie familiale quotidienne reprennent aussi des formes de peintures religieuses (piet\u00e0, mise en tombeau) et \u00e9voquent le sentiment de monologue int\u00e9rieur. &nbsp;Dans ce tableau, au titre explicite, le personnage \u00e0 la t\u00eate disproportionn\u00e9e, cadr\u00e9e en contre-plong\u00e9e sur le mode de l\u2019expressionnisme, exprime une douleur int\u00e9rieure, une pri\u00e8re personnelle, telle qu\u2019on l\u2019entend dans la premi\u00e8re partie de nombreux psaumes.
